Ero’s story is quite sad. He used to live in a field in Spain from which he would escape a few times per month for a whole year - always looking for companionship and food.

In December 2023 his owner decided that he didn’t want him any longer and brought him to the pound where he abandoned him.

In February this year the Spanish volunteers noticed a lump on his front leg which grew very quick. He had a biopsy and he was diagnosed as having sarcoma. The vets acted quickly and amputated his front leg as well as giving him four rounds of chemotherapy to ensure that there were no cancer cells left behind. He is now cancer free!!

Although his scans and blood tests are perfect, there is always the possibility of a relapse. Any potential adopter will need to take this into account. We hope however that EROS cancer never returns - he has proven to be such a surviver!

Ero is 2 years old and he's super lovely, good with other dogs and great living in the city.

He's been living with a foster volunteer since February, spending time in the city as well as the countryside and does great in both.

He's vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and has been tested for the most common Mediterranean diseases in Spain. Ero is positive for leishmaniasis, a Mediterranean disease which is treatable but not curable. Please ask us to know more.

Full rescue back up provided. Adoptions to the UK only. All adopters must pass a virtual homecheck. Our rehoming fee is £490 and includes dog pound release charges, neutering, blood tests, vaccinations, passport processing, transport and border control charges. We arrange everything for you and will support you before, during and after the dogs arrival to your home.
