Five Circles Dog Rescue aims to rescue and provide loving homes in the UK for the abandoned and unwanted stray and pound dogs of Spain. We believe that every dog deserves to be treated with love, care and respect.
Data Protection
Through our work helping dogs we need to have access to your personal data and believe that you need to be informed on how we use it. We believe it is our duty to protect your data and manage the information you share with us in line with data protection laws.
This Privacy Policy describes how we will collect and use your personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), tailored by the Data Protection Act 2018 to ensure you remain informed and in control of your information.

Types Of Personal Data We Collect
Upon contact with us to enquiry, adopt or support our work, we collect the following types of information about you:
- Your contact details, such as name, postal address, telephone number and email address
- Your date of birth
- Your financial information, such as bank account details
- Your Gift Aid declaration
- Your professional information, such as job title
- A record of our communications with you
- Your communication preferences
- Your giving history
- Your interests, and reasons for your support
- Information collected as part of our rehoming service, such as details relating to your personal circumstances
- Information about your existing animals in relation to behaviour and vet care and treatments.
- Photographs and videos you may send to us as part of the home checking process or post donation of your dog in your home or nearby locations.
- Sensitive information (see below)
Sensitive Information
Under data protection law, certain categories of personal information are recognised as sensitive, otherwise known as ‘Special Category Data’, such as health information. We do not often process this information, but will occasionally collect it to match you with the right dog or help with rehoming an already adopted dog.
In all cases, we will ensure that we have a valid legal basis for processing this information
Where Does This Information Come From?
Most personal data we process is given to us directly by our supporters, adopters, fosters, volunteers and representatives from other rescue and rehoming organisations we work with. We may also receive your personal information when you donate to us through third-party services such as Just Giving or Virgin Money Giving.
How We Use Your Data
Your personal data is used to help us deliver our charitable services or to help us raise funds to provide and realise those charitable services.
Please see below the different reasons why we do this depending on the nature of our relationship with you.
Enquiring for or adopting a dog
We will use the information to assess your suitability to adopt a dog, to be able to provide you with the agreements and paperwork needed complete and register an adoption and also to transport the dog to you via a third party transport company.
Dog Adoption Post-care
We will use the information you give us to contact you and follow up progress of the dog, to provide behavioural support and to get information such as photos and videos of the dog to aid with providing behavioural advice. We may also use the photos and videos to post on our social media streams or website always with your consent.
Fundraising
We will use the information to process any donation you have provided or intent to provide for the rescue and to provide you with information on how your donation was used and how it has advanced our work.
We will use it to send you marketing, progress on work, news, updates on our dogs, general information about rehoming, volunteering and various ways you can support our charity, dogs and volunteers.
How Do We Store Your Data
As an UK organisation we store our data within the European Economic Area (EEA).
Your Data Protection Rights
Under data protection law, you have rights including:
Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your information in certain circumstances.
Your right to object to processing – You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
